Rebels sweep Central-Coosa

Thorsby improved its area record to 4-2 (and 23-4 overall) with three wins over Coosa-Central this week on the strength of a grand slam and a no-hitter.
The Rebels hosted Coosa on Monday and won, 13-3.
The visitors managed three runs in the top of the first inning to take the lead, but then Blake Bradberry settled in and held Coosa scoreless the rest of the way. He allowed five hits and two walks in five innings while striking out five.
Tyler Owens provided much of the offense for the Rebels, going 3-for-4 at the plate with a grand slam and six runs batted in.
Cody Scott went 2-for-3 with two RBI.
The same two teams played a doubleheader Tuesday at Rockford.
Thorsby won Game 1, 10-0, as Brantly Maddox pitched a complete game shutout. He allowed three hits and one walk in seven innings while striking out three.
Parker Bryan was 4-for-4 at the plate, Bo Hoffman was 3-for-3 with two doubles and Denham Childress was 3-for-4 with four RBI.
THS was even more impressive in Game 2, winning 14-0 as Hoffman tossed a no-hitter.
He allowed one walk and hit one batter while striking out 11 in five innings.
Bradberry and Childress each went 3-for-3 at the plate. Bradberry recorded three RBI, and Childress had three runs scored and one RBI.
