Betty Ruth Collins

Betty Ruth Collins, age 79 of Montgomery and formerly of Jemison, passed away on Jan. 23, 2013, at Prattville Health and Rehab in Prattville.

She was born on Nov. 4, 1933, in Chilton County, the daughter of the late Harvey George Wilkins and the late Meryll Agnes Cobb Wilkins.

She was retired from the housekeeping department at the University of Montevallo.

She is survived by: son, Ken (Ann) Betzhold of Millbrook; son, Michael (Sharon) Betzhold of Atlanta; son, David Betzhold of Clanton; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sister, Frances Partridge of Sylacauga; sister, Melba Rollins of Mobile; brother, Jimmy Wilkins of Sycamore; brother, Bobby Wilkins of Jemison; brother, Larry Wilkins of Gardendale; sister, Martie Cleckler of Jemison; brother, Frank Wilkins of Jemison; sister, Sarah Brand of Jemison; sister, Edith Hughes of Maplesville; and a host of nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by: husband, Lyle Betzhold; and husband, Joe Collins.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, Jan. 24, from 6–8 p.m. at Ellison-Cleckler Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, Jan. 25, at 2 p.m. from Center Hill Baptist Church with the Rev. Jeff Champion and the Rev. Grady Russell officiating.

Burial will follow in Midway Memorial Gardens in Jemison.
