Panthers girls even record

The Jemison Panthers varsity girls basketball team picked up their third win of the season Tuesday night on the road at Thorsby, 37-25.
It took the Panthers (3-3) to the 6:32 mark of the second period to get on the board after an 11-0 run by host Thorsby to start, but JHS would go on to outscore the Rebels (1-8) 15-5 in the second period and take a 15-12 halftime lead.
The Panthers added to the margin in the third period, making the score 23-18 to start the fourth.
JHS would keep up the pace in the final period and finish off the Rebels.
Laura Vinzant lead the way for the Panthers with 15 points, and Shelby Griffin added nine points. Marissa Jones led the Rebels with nine points.
