The Chilton County Relay For Life Committee will hold a meeting Thursday, Sept. 13 to discuss plans and goals for Relay For Life 2013.

The meeting is open to anyone interested in getting involved with Relay and will be at Durbin Farms Market in Clanton at 5:30 p.m.

Chairwoman Aimee Eiland and co-chairwoman Courtney Brock will be in charge of this year’s event

Fundraising opportunities will begin before the official Relay kick-off in January and continue through Relay in April.

“We will have a booth at the fair at the end of the month and plan on participating in the Chilton County Christmas Parade again this year,” North Alabama Area Director Ashley Wilkinson said. “Volunteers are needed for both of these events.”

Wilkinson said the county’s Relay For Life goal is $153,500.

Relay For Life 2013 is scheduled for April 26 at 6 p.m. at Clanton City Park, and it is free and open to the entire community.
