Bro. Gary Fant got the morning worship service started off with “When I See The Blood” and “There Is Power In The Blood” and Sis Carol Smith blessed us with “Blessed Assurance.”  Bro. Dennis’ text came from Matthew 22:37-40 and Exodus 20:1-17.

Jesus Christ wants to be first in our lives and he doesn’t want us to put anything he blesses us with ahead of him.  If we want God’s blessings on our lives we need to put God first and then we need to sit back and watch how God will bless us.  We as Christians need to stop looking for peace and love in the world because there is no way we will find that peace and love until we accept Jesus Christ as our personal savior.  We as Christians need to keep God’s commandments because if we keep them, we are showing God that we really love him and God will also bless us.

Bro. Gary Fant got the evening worship service started off with “Take The Name Of Jesus With You,” “Shall We Gather at the River,” and “Come Morning.”  Luke Wilson blessed us with “What A Mighty God We Serve,” and Bro. Dennis Smith blessed us with “There’s a Record Book.”  Bro. Dennis’ text came from 1 Timothy 4:1-8. We as Christians need to stand on the word of God and stand up for what we believe in.  If the Bible says that we shouldn’t do something because it is wrong then we should believe it because God’s word doesn’t lie.  We are living in a world today where people are living it up and enjoying the “high life” but we need to stand firm on our beliefs and show the world that there is a better life to live.  We need to let our light shine because we are the only Bible that this lost and dying world will ever read.

Happy birthday to Marie Burnett on Aug. 8.
