Prayer walks set for Aug. 5, 12

The Chilton Baptist Association will hold a fall prayer walk in Chilton County schools Aug. 5 and 12.

The CBA has sponsored a prayer walk at local schools for 15 years.

“This gives everyone the opportunity and the freedom of going to the schools of their choice and praying for the students and staff of each school,” coordinator Bobbie Traywick said. “We also pray that each student and parents will have patience with the teachers and staff.”

Traywick said everyone is invited to participate, including families.

“We want to emphasize that each student treat other students in a manner in which they would want to be treated,” Traywick said. “We ask that each parent communicate with the teachers and staff. Please go out and exercise your freedom to pray at the school of your choice.”

The spring prayer walk has taken place since 2004, and a fall prayer walk was added recently to provide two walks every year.

The prayer walk in the spring is held on the first Sunday in April unless Easter is the same day. The one in the fall is always the first Sunday in August.

“Many thanks to Superintendent Dave Hayden and the Board of Education and all the staff,” Traywick said. “This walk is for everyone.”
