John Melvin Kirkpatrick, age 51 of Jemison, passed away on July 18, 2012, at his residence.

He was born in Decatur on Oct. 17, 1960, the son of the late Samuel Grady Kirkpatrick and the late Elizabeth Thomas Kirkpatrick.

He was an automotive salesperson.

He is survived by: wife, Pam Kirkpatrick of Jemison; son, Tyler Kirkpatrick of Jemison; brother, Jamey (Nancy) Fore of Clanton; brother, Sam Kirkpatrick of Houston, Texas; brother, Tom (Teresa) Kirkpatrick of Houston, Texas; mother-in-Law, Helen Fore of Jemison; nephew, Garret Fore of Clanton; nephew, Tommy Kirkpatrick of Houston, Texas; nephew, Ben Kirkpatrick of Houston, Texas; niece, Terri Kirkpatrick of Houston, Texas; and special friend, Andy Moody of Jemison.

Memorial services were held on Sunday, July 22 at 2 p.m. from Pates Chapel Baptist Church with the Rev. Bert Tippett officiating.

The family received friends one hour prior to the services.

The family requests no flowers but encourages you to spend time enjoying an activity with your family.
