Robert Fletcher Harris, age 76, of Plantersville died on July 10, 2012.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Byron and Inez Harris; brothers, Martin Harris, John Harris and Edward Harris; and sisters, Calley McCanse, Grace Casey and Edna Eiland. Survivors include his son, Robert Byron Harris (Margaret); grandchildren, Madeline and Robert Byron Harris, all of Shreveport, La.; sister, Ouida Harris Ballard of Atlanta; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He entered the U.S. Air Force in June 1955 as an aircraft mechanic and retired from the Air Force a master sergeant in September 1975. After retirement he moved back to his home in Plantersville where he grew up. Robert was a lifetime Alabama fan, which was a passion of his. He loved the outdoors, fishing, hunting and his cabin on top of the mountain, but most of all visiting his son and grandchildren. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him and loved him.

A chapel service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 14, at Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home with his son Robert Harris officiating.
