Carolyn Mae Crawford, age 84 of Clanton, passed away on July 7, 2012, at her residence.

She was born in Birmingham on Dec. 9, 1927, the daughter of the late Clark Jones and the late Ethel Hopkins Jones.

She was a former cashier.

She is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, George Crawford of Clanton, along with: daughter, Donna (Bob) Ridgeway of Hartford; son, Dale Crawford of Clanton; five grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; brother, William “Buddy” Jones of Houston, Texas; sister, Mary Ruth Roper of Trussville; brother, Henry Jones of Trussville; sister, Gwen Roper of Trussville; brother, Leroy Jones of Trussville; sister, Janice Turner of Alexander City; along with a host of nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, along with her brother, Robert Jones.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 11 at 1 p.m. from the Memorial Chapel of Ellison-Cleckler Funeral Home with the Rev. Charlie Nickelson officiating.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.

Burial will follow the service at 2:45 p.m. in Alabama National Cemetery in Montevallo.

The family requests no flowers but encourages donations towards Alzheimer’s research in her name.

The family would like to express their gratitude to Ethel Davis and the staff of Alacare Hospice of Clanton for their compassion and helpfulness during Carolyn’s sickness.
