An Alabama non-profit with a Clanton office will be featured in an upcoming documentary on PBS.

Sarrell Dental will be one of the main focuses of the documentary “Dollars and Dentists” on the program “Frontline,” June 26 at 9 p.m.

The program is joined by the Center for Public Integrity as they investigate the lack of dental care provided to those who can’t afford it, and also examining how some privately backed dental chains tend to elevate costs and provide special payment plans in order to gain money.

The documentary will show the non-profit model provided by Sarrell, and its 14 locations throughout the state and will also chronicle why dental care is important.

“I think a lot of people watch ‘Frontline’ and [hopefully it will] open their eyes to why they should go [to the dentist],” said Brandi Parris, Chief Marketing Officer with Sarrell. “We’re doing more preventative care. We’re educating the kids and parents, trying to get the word out.”

Sarrell provides dental care to children ages 1-20 that qualify for Medicaid and AllKids. The office in Clanton is located on Jasper Dennis Road.
