Rhonda Kaye Howard Smith, age 39 of Jemison, passed away on May 30, 2012, at her residence.

She was born in Birmingham on July 11, 1972, the daughter of James W. Howard and Anne Collins Howard.

She was a claims representative for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Alabama.

She is survived by: son, Caleb Smith of Jemison; husband, Scotty Smith of Jemison; father, James W. Howard of Jemison; mother, Anne Howard of Jemison; brother, Steve (Terri) Howard of Jemison; sister, Debra (David) Collins of Thorsby; mother-in-law, Brenda Smitherman of Jemison; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 2 at 3 p.m. from the Memorial Chapel of Ellison-Cleckler Funeral Home with the Rev. Rex Kent and the Rev. Chuck Bass officiating.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Entombment will follow in the Smith Mausoleum at Midway Memorial Gardens in Jemison.

The family would like to extend a special word of thanks to Melissa Easterling with Alacare Hospice for the care she provided.
