Elite Salon’s 6 stylists—Kayla Beasley, Tasia Oliver, Tereasa Chambers, Amber Price, Shannon Pierce and Virginia Stewart—at their new location on Seventh Street South.

Amber Price’s Elite Salon recently moved from Second Avenue to Seventh Street South in the same building as Pristine Cleaners.

The salon moved to its new location last month when Price, the owner, realized their original location didn’t have enough space to accommodate its growing clientele.

According to Price, ever since she decided to open up her own business two years ago, “everything has just come together.”

“I wanted to make a place I would want to work in. I knew I wanted to work around here, and I was passionate about it so I just opened up my own salon.”

Starting a salon from scratch may seem intimidating for a 26-year-old, but she didn’t seem concerned.

“What’s the worst thing that can happen? The business fails and I lose money—it’s just money,” Price said. “You can always work and make more, so I thought ‘Why not?’”

According to Price, the salon has been getting much more business since moving. There are currently six stylists. Price’s goal is to hire three more.
