The Clanton Police Department will participate in the Click It or Ticket campaign during the upcoming holiday weekend.

CPD has received a grant from the Traffic Safety Division of the Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs to place extra officers on the street during the long Memorial Day weekend.

These officers will be looking for those who are not wearing their safety belt, aggressive drivers, and drivers under the influence.

Extra CPD officers will hit the streets starting Wednesday, May 23 and work through Monday May 28.

“We want everyone to have a safe and enjoyable holiday weekend, and our goal is to reduce traffic crashes and save lives,” CPD Chief Brian Stilwell said in a release.
