Donald Morrison “Donnie” Strickland, 70, of Clanton died Tuesday, May 15, 2012, in Clanton.

He was born on Saturday, April 25, 1942, in Autauga County, son of the late Henry Samuel Strickland and the late Mary Ophelia Deramus Strickland.

He owned a commercial heating and cooling business.

Surviving are his wife, Marilyn Jones Strickland of Clanton; son, Donald M. (Kim) Strickland Jr. of Andalusia; daughter, Shellie S. (Chris) Smith of Clanton; four grandsons, Jacob Smith, Sam Smith, Chase Strickland and Trey Strickland; granddaughter, Anna Smith; brother, Everette Wayne “Pete” Strickland; five sisters, Eloise Beadlescomb, Dorothy Graves, Jo Owens, Leta Broadhead and Sandi Little.

Friends will be received from 5-8 p.m., Thursday, May 17 at Martin Chapel.

Services will be held Friday, May 18 at 1 p.m. at Martin Chapel with the Rev. Matt DeBord and the Rev. Doug Powell officiating.

Interment will follow in Martin Memorial Cemetery in Clanton.
