Connie Cole Varden Woods

Connie Cole Varden Woods, 63, of Clanton, passed away May 8, 2012, as the result of an automobile accident. She was born in Chilton County on Jan. 6, 1949, the daughter of the late Jim Cole, Sr. and Vernette Cost Powell.
She was a former bookkeeper.
She is survived by: daughter, Melanie (Rodney) Jackson of Clanton; granddaughter, Nicole Jackson of Clanton; granddaughter, Dawn Jackson of Clanton; great-granddaughter, Addalyn Mims of Clanton; her “Mommie,” Vernette Powell of Jemison; companion and best friend, Wallace Varden of Clanton; sister, Lisa (Donald) Vinzant of Clanton; sister, Nina (Ronnie) Headley of Jemison; sister, Cindy Cole of Pell City; brother, Jim Cole Jr. of Springville; brother, Steve Cole of Leeds; brother, Marty Cole of Pell City; brother, Kerry Cole of Pell City; along with a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
She is preceded in death by: son, Kent Varden; and grandparents, Vernon and Carrie Mae Cost.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 9 from 5-8 p.m. at Ellison-Cleckler Funeral Home at 1709 Lay Dam Road in Clanton. Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 10 at 11 a.m. from Mineral Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Jason Rothe and Rev. J. Aaron Ellison officiating. Burial will follow in the Midway Memorial Gardens in Jemison.
