William Earl Easterling

William Earl Easterling, age 87 of Clanton, passed away on April 30, 2012, at Shelby Baptist Medical Center in Alabaster.

He was born in Chilton County on May 25, 1924, the son of the late General Newit Easterling and the late Annie Mims Easterling.

He was a carpenter.

He is survived by: son, Carl (Mary) Easterling of Clanton; step-son, Richard (Debra) Minor of Clanton; step-son, Mel Minor of Clanton; step-daughter, Vickey (Ricky) Lockhart of Clanton; step-daughter, Audrey (Jerry) Jones of Clanton; grandchildren: Brandy (Keith) Williams, Chris Easterling, Kevin Jones, Stephanie (Tom) Killingsworth; a host of step-grandchildren; great grandchildren: Shane, Joshua and Jacob Easterling, Brooke, Cody, and Cory Williams, Cain and Chloe Killingsworth; a host of step-great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchild, Alyssa Easterling.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, May 2 from 6-8 p.m. at Ellison-Cleckler Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 3 at 3 p.m. from the Memorial Chapel of Ellison-Cleckler Funeral Home with the Rev. Thurmond Cleckler and the Rev. Tony Hughes officiating.

Burial will follow in the Walnut Creek United Methodist Cemetery in Clanton.
