Dream Big, READ is the theme for the Chilton/Clanton Public Library’s summer reading program.

Children can join the 2012 reading program May 1-31.

The reading program is open to kindergarten through sixth-grade students.

The library is planning programs to make the month fun for children and to encourage them to keep reading.

All special entertainment will be on Tuesdays at 2 p.m. All programming is free.

The summer reading program is an on-your-own reading program.

The children are divided into three groups: kindergarten – second grade, third and fourth grades and fifth and sixth grades.

Children can begin checking out books June 1-22, and all books must be turned in by closing time on June 22 for all books to be counted.

There will be prizes to all those who participate and also additional prizes for those who read the most books.

All participants must register individually, and no phone registrations will be accepted.

All books must be checked out from the Chilton/Clanton Public Library and read by themselves or to others.

Each child that participates will be given a folder to record the books that have been read, and the folder will be kept at the library.
