Tommie Joe Fox, 77, of Shelby, died Wednesday, April 4, 2012, at Shelby Baptist Medical Center in Alabaster.

He was born on Monday, Jan. 28, 1935, in Chilton County, son of the late T.O. Fox and the late Mary Watley Fox.

He was retired from the U.S. Air Force after 22 years of service.

Surviving are his wife, Dorthey Fox of Shelby; daughter, Vickie Fox of South Carolina; son, Joe Fox of California; two grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; two brothers, Paul (Joyce) Fox of Clanton and Gilbert M. (Jane) Fox of Clanton; three sisters, Estelle (Bobby) Hines of Alabaster, Anna (Johnny) McCraw of Maplesville and Geraldine (Jimmy) Jones of Chicago.

Friends will be received from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday, April 7, at Martin Funeral Home Chapel.

Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 7 at Isabella Methodist Cemetery with the Rev. David Bishop officiating.
