Churches and organizations in Chilton County invite everyone in the community to join in their Easter celebrations this week with egg hunts and special services before and on April 8, or Easter Sunday.

Zion Ridge Ministries will have a Cosmic Egg Hunt on April 6, Good Friday, at 6:30 p.m. The glow-in-the-dark hunt will begin at 7:30, and visitors should bring flashlights and baskets. Free hot dogs and drinks will be provided, as well as games and entertainment for children. Chilton-Shelby Mental Health Center’s Prevention Services is partnering with 95.7 JAMZ to hold a Community Easter Egg Hunt and Information Fair on Saturday, April 7, from 12-2 p.m. at E.M. Henry Park, 413 14^th St. S. in Clanton. For more information, call Alicia Smitherman at (205) 668-4803.

Clanton First United Methodist Church will host its annual community Easter Egg Hunt on April 7 from 10 a.m. to noon in the gym of the Helen E. Parrish Activity Center. The traditional egg hunt will accompany games, prizes, inflatables, snacks, face painting and more. The event is free of charge, and all families are invited to come and celebrate the Easter season. Providence Baptist Church No. 2 will hold its annual Easter Sunrise Service on April 8 at 6 a.m. at the new amphitheater on the church grounds. The service features a live dramatic presentation of the life of Christ from his birth to his ascension. It is free and open to the public, and guests should dress warmly and bring a lawn chair. Rocky Mount United Methodist Church will hold a special Easter Sunday celebration April 8 at the 11 a.m. service for an opportunity to awaken some old feelings through hearing the story of Easter in word and in music. Rocky Mount is located at 14731 County Road 51 in Jemison.

Mt. Pisgah Methodist Church will hold an Easter sunrise service and drama April 8 at 6 a.m. with breakfast after.

Union Missionary Baptist Church will hold its Easter Sunday service April 8 at 8 a.m. The church is located at 110 Liberty St. in Clanton.

Zion Ridge Ministries will present “Celebration of the King” during their morning service April 8 beginning at 10:45 a.m.
