A community clean-up day in Clanton has been planned for Saturday, April 21.

The announcement was made earlier this week at the city council meeting.

On that day, churches, school groups and civic clubs are asked to help pick up litter. Bags, gloves and other supplies will be given. Groups who do volunteer will also be given a map of their area.

There are also plans to distribute car litterbags to students around the same time

“Maybe that will help a little bit,” said Clanton City Councilwoman Mary Mell Smith.
