Two defensive touchdowns carried the Central Alabama Red Devils to a 20-12 victory over the Alabama Protectors on March 3.
Christian Briscoe intercepted a pass and returned it 65 yards for a touchdown in the first quarter for a 6-0 lead after a missed point-after try.
Two long scoring passes put the Protectors ahead 12-6 at halftime, but the Red Devils tied the game with a 43-yard pass from Eric Argo to Chris Kent in the third quarter.
Darion Parker recovered a fumble in the end zone in the fourth quarter for what would turn out to be the game winning score. Central Alabama added a two-point conversion on a 3-yard pass from Argo to Jeriel Thompson.
The Devils play their first home game of the season at 6 p.m. on Saturday at Maplesville’s George Walker Jr. Stadium.
