Adopting a dog or cat is not the only way people can help the Chilton County Humane Society.

The second annual humane society chili luncheon will be held Sunday, March 11 from noon until 2 p.m. at First United Methodist Church of Clanton.

“We had pretty good success last year, and we’re hoping we can do better this year,” said Chris Driggers, office manager at the humane society.

Tickets are $5 per person and include a bowl of chili, tea and cornbread.

Vegetarian chili is available, and guests may dine in or carry out.

Tickets are available at the humane society, Clanton Elementary School, Clanton Intermediate School, Chilton County High School, Clanton Cleaners, Suds R-Us and the Money Store.

“Tickets will also be available at the church at the door as long as we still have chili,” Driggers said.

All proceeds benefit the Chilton County Humane Society and will be used to purchase supplies, vaccines, medications and other necessities for the animals.
