James Carl “Johnny” Thompson

James Carl “Johnny” Thompson, age 60 of the Union Grove Community in Jemison, passed away on Feb. 24, 2012, at his residence.
He was born in Chilton County on March 8, 1951, the son of the late James Paul Thompson and Minnie Pearl Rhodes Thompson.
He worked as a welder.
He is survived by: wife, Ann Thompson of Jemison; daughter, Kristi Vanderslice of Jemison; daughter, Misti Bishop of Jemison; daughter, Vanessa (Allan) Barrett of Jemison; grandchildren: Austin Thompson, Lane Bishop, Andrew Barrett, Kaleigh Vanderslice, Alyssa Barrett and Kyleigh Vanderslice; mother, Minnie Pearl Thompson of Clanton; brother, Tom (Barbara) Thompson of Clanton; sister, Ann (Samuel) Baker of Clanton; sister, Linda (Patrick) Willis of Clanton; and sister, Kathy Taylor of Orange Beach; along with a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 28 from Union Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Richard Parker and the Rev. Thurmond Cleckler officiating.
The family received friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
Burial followed in the Union Grove Community Cemetery in Jemison.
