Paul Moatts, 89, of Clanton died Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2012.

He was born Tuesday, Aug. 1, 1922, in Chilton County, the son of the late Rudolph Moatts and the late Annie Bell Teel Moatts.

He was a butcher.

Surviving are his wife, Jewel Mae Miller Moatts of Clanton; son, Garry R. (Sheila) Moatts of Merritt Island, Fla.; daughter, Sherry M. (Benny) Griffin of Thorsby; three granddaughters, Bethany Moatts of Boston, Kelly Moatts of Gainesville, Fla. and Mandy Griffin of Calera; two grandsons, Garrett Moatts of Merritt Island, Fla. and Jody Griffin of Clanton; and great-granddaughter, Lilly Mae Griffin of Clanton,.

Friends were received from 2:30-3:30 p.m., Friday, Feb. 3 at Martin Funeral Home Chapel.

Services were held Friday, Feb. 3 at 3:30 p.m. at Martin Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jay Hurd and the Rev. Matt DeBord officiating. Interment followed in Clanton City Cemetery.
