The Alabama State Department of Education informed Chilton County Schools Superintendent Dave Hayden on Feb. 1 that schools in the county would not be required to make up days missed for severe weather last week.

Hayden said the decision not to add makeup days was based on Gov. Robert Bentley declaring a state of emergency in Alabama on Jan. 23.

“To sum it all up, our calendar will stay as it is,” Hayden said.
