Chilton County’s wrestling team went 0-4 in a meet at Shelby County on Jan. 28, but several Tigers had impressive performances individually.

“We are getting better with each match,” coach Danny Jackson said. “Depth and injuries are still taking a big toll on our team. We only had six healthy wrestlers for this duals tournament, so we were giving away as many as 48 points before we even got started.”

The Tigers lost to Hewitt-Trussville (78-5), SCHS (48-30), Fultondale (61-9) and Chelsea (36-18).

Richard Leige went 3-1 on the day, with a pin and a decision.

Justyn Jackson also went 3-1

Jaylon Landreath won his second match of the season, against Shelby.

Both Patrick Kurdziel and Spencer Watley went 2-2 in the meet.
