CCHS boys win third straight

Chilton County’s basketball team has won three consecutive games, including a 62-56 thriller over Billingsley on Tuesday.

The Tigers broke open a close game with a late 13-2 run capped by a Davre Williams three-pointer with 1:30 remaining to play that put CCHS up 56-45.

Racquez Cora scored a team-high 14 points for Chilton, Dyquan Floyd had 12 points, and Williams and Jamarcus Williams had 11 points each.

A.J. Tyus scored 22 points for Billingsley, and Carlos Caver had 18 points.

The CCHS girls also won, 52-39, led by Keona DeJarnett’s 19 points.

The Chilton boys defeated Marbury, 60-56, on Jan. 27.

Cora had 17 points, Jamarcus Williams had 10 points and Delondre DeJarnett had eight points and 14 rebounds.
