Verbena’s girls basketball team continues to make history.

The Red Devils defeated Notasulaga, 42-36, on Friday in what coach Nicole Ivey said is believed to be VHS’s first win ever over their area foes.

The win comes in the same month as the Devils won the Chilton County Basketball Tournament for the first time in school history.

“The girls have worked extremely hard since county and wanted to do what it took to make history once again,” Ivey said.

Marqueska Deramus led VHS Friday with 22 points.
