James William Collins, 67, of Thorsby died Wednesday, Jan. 25, 2012, at Hatley Health Care in Clanton.

He was born Thursday, Aug. 24, 1944, in Chilton County, son of the late James Carlton Collins and the late Minnie Merle Smith Collins.

He was a farmer.

Surviving are his wife, Marilyn P. Collins of Thorsby; son, James Wallace “Wally” Collins of Thorsby; two daughters, Tiffany (Nick) Hammock of Thorsby, Tina Collins (Justin Keenum) of Thorsby; grandchildren, Briann Bryant, Michael Collins, Chasity Collins, Jenni Collins, Maddi Collins and Brooklin Keenum; great-grandchildren, Jaidyn Bryant and Paityn Bryant; two sisters, Rebecca (Zane) Martin and Mary Woodfin.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 27 at Thorsby Memorial Cemetery. Martin Funeral Home directing.
