The National Weather Service in Birmingham will send a team to Chilton County on Tuesday to survey the damage from Monday’s storms.

Meteorologist Mark Rose said he is almost positive that the storms formed at least one tornado that swept through the area, based on the extent of the damage in Maplesville, Enterprise and other parts of Chilton County.

“Based on reports that we got and what we saw on the radar, I would say 98 percent chance it was a tornado,” Rose said. “Most of these storms that produce damage are tornadoes.”
