Rebecca Corley’s inaugural couponing class, “Couponing for Beginners,” was such a success that her crash course for fledgling couponers is back by popular demand, along with a new intermediate class and a “Coupons and Coffee” group.

Corley said about 70 people attended her first class Jan. 10.

“I’m definitely overwhelmed at the response,” Corley said. “It’s great to see girls that want to get involved in it (and) do it correctly. It was wonderfully overwhelming.”

Her next “Couponing for Beginners” class will be Monday, Jan. 30 from 6:30-8 p.m. at Grace Fellowship Church in Clanton.

“There will be door prizes and desserts, so feel free to come again if it would be helpful for you, and definitely bring a friend,” Corley said. “I’m working on refining and cutting back a bit on the information, so there will definitely be more time for questions.”

She and her couponing friend, Jaralea Garrett of Verbena, will co-teach the first “Intermediate Couponing” class on Monday, Feb. 6 from 6:30-8 p.m. at Grace Fellowship.

Corley has also organized an open group called “Coupons and Coffee,” which will meet the first Monday night of each month at 6:30 at Grace Fellowship.

“I wanted to provide a time after these classes are over for us to get together, help each other, learn, catch up on coupon organizing and have an excuse to get to know each other,” she said. “This will be a time to bring new couponers to get help, hang out and organize. I’ll make sure to have a pot of decaf coffee brewed, something to snack on and a computer with an Internet connection.
