Peach Jam to be at city park again

As people pull on their wool coats to brave near-freezing temperatures, it’s hard to imagine hanging out at Chilton County’s Annual Peach Jam in about five months.

But warm summer days aren’t too far away, and this year’s Peach Jam, set for Friday, June 29, promises to be just as exciting as the last.

The event will be at Clanton City Park again this year with entertainment by GLOW, a seven-piece dance and show band from Atlanta.

“A few of us went to see them,” said Janice Hull, of Hull & Russell PC in Clanton. “They can play about anything, and our people will love them.”

To access clips from GLOW’s performances, visit the band’s official website at www.theglowband.com.

Admission to the Peach Jam event is free, but a children’s play area and other attractions will have a charge.

Guests can enjoy food vendors and arts and crafts vendors, as well as local entertainment in the early evening.

“As to changes for this year, we can hope that the weather cooperates,” Hull said. “Even with a small storm that came through last year, we had positive comments. With great weather, we expect this Peach Jam to be the best!”
