Jesse E. Dawson, 80, of Jemison died Friday, Jan. 14, 2012.

He was born Friday, Sept. 4, 1931, in Chilton County, son of the late James C. Dawson and the late Ethel Ray Dawson.

He was a carpenter.

Surviving are his two daughters, Donna (Ralph) Hayes of Clanton and Cathy Stovall of Jemison; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Clovisteen Dawson; and grandson, Rodney Hayes.

Graveside services were held Monday, Jan. 16 at 10 a.m. at Pates Chapel Baptist Cemetery with the Rev. James Cleckler officiating.
