James Lavelle “Jamie” Cobb

James Lavelle “Jamie” Cobb, age 42 of Clanton, passed away on Jan. 12, 2012, at Shelby Baptist Medical Center in Alabaster.

He was born in Bastrop, La. on May 24, 1969, the son of James Monroe Cobb Jr. and Mary Ruth Kelley.

Jamie was a residential carpenter.

He is survived by: daughter, Meagan Leanne Cobb of Milwaukee, Wis.; daughter, Jamie Marie Cobb of Milwaukee, Wis.; mother, Mary Hilyer of Clanton; father, James Monroe Cobb Jr. of Boonesville, Miss.; mother, Dewona (Johnny) Gunter of Oak Grove, La.; brother, Tony Dewayne (Darlene) Cobb of Tupelo, Miss.; brother, Damon Bradford Cobb of Elmore; sister, Cynthia (Thomas) Crosby of Oak Grove, La.; sister, Michelle (John) Gunter of Oak Grove, La.; step-brother, Brady (Angie) Hilyer of Jemison; and step-brother, Brian (Jenny) Hilyer of Jemison.

He is preceded in death by his brother, Mitchell Cobb.

Visitation will be held Saturday, Jan. 14 from 5-7 p.m. at Ellison-Mims Funeral Home in Clanton.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, Jan. 14 at 7 p.m. from the Memorial Chapel of Ellison-Mims Funeral Home with the Rev. Matt Hilyer officiating.

Graveside services will be held Monday, Jan. 16 at 10 a.m. from Epps Cemetery in Epps, La. with the Rev. Raymond Agent officiating.
