Maplesville Police

The following is an activity report of the Maplesville Police Department from Nov. 30-Dec. 20:

•Motor vehicle accident: U.S. 82 and County Road 45

Dec. 9
•Vehicle broken into, purse stolen: Maplesville High School parking lot (suspects used victim’s credit card to purchase shoes from Foot Locker in Selma)

Dec. 10
•Centreville Police stopped subject on a traffic stop who had warrants with Maplesville for failure to appear (speeding). The defendant was picked up by Maplesville Police and taken to the county jail.
•Child struck by vehicle after Christmas parade: Alabama 22 supermarket (child ran out into road to retrieve candy; vehicle was moving slow; no injuries)

Dec. 12
•Alabaster Police stopped defendant on a traffic stop; defendant had a warrant with Maplesville for failure to appear (driving with revoked license). Defendant was picked up and taken to the county jail.
•Railroad crossing vehicle accident: Alabama 22 and West Frazier railroad crossing (driver swerved to avoid train coming out of West Frazier’s wood yard, vehicle flipped but no injuries).
