Robbie Lee Dunavant, age 87 of the Union Grove community in Jemison, passed away on Dec. 26, 2011, at Chilton Medical Center in Clanton.

She was born in Bessemer on Feb. 21, 1924, the daughter of the late Robert H. Atchison and the late Margaret Ethel Benton Atchison.

Mrs. Dunavant was a loving and devoted homemaker.

She is survived by: son, Gary Atchison of Montgomery; daughter, Rena Mitchell of Jemison; granddaughter, Nancy Hendrix of Birmingham; grandson, Michael Mitchell of Montevallo; granddaughter, Miranda Mitchell of Thorsby; granddaughter, Amberly Mitchell of Jemison; and great-grandchildren: Luke Mitchell, Noah Hendrix and Kayson Mitchell.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 28 from 5-8 p.m. at Union Grove Baptist Church in Jemison.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Dec. 29 at 11 a.m. from Union Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Randy Gothard, the Rev. Matt Hilyer and the Rev. Johnny Bowman officiating. Burial will follow in the Union Grove Community Cemetery in Jemison.
