Linda Sue Dennis, 68, of Verbena died Saturday, Dec. 24, 2011, at Shelby Baptist Medical Center in Alabaster.

She was born Wednesday, Jan. 27, 1943, in Chilton County, daughter of the late William Amzie Wright and the late Mary F. Vinson Wright.

She was a Court Clerk for Chilton County.

Surviving are her husband, James Dennis of Verbena; son, Mike (Karen) Dennis of Verbena; daughter, Susan (Jeff) Lowery of Jemison; two step-daughters, Sherry (Walter) Young of Merritt Island, Fla. and Vicky Banks of Texas; five grandchildren, Brittany Dennis (Nathaniel Thomas), Garrett Dennis, Lindsay (Jonathan) Deitrick, Wendy Young and Jason Banks; two sisters, Marilyn (Wayne) Coe and Kathy Lenard; special niece, Beth (Ricky) Smith; and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Amzie and Mary Wright; and grandson, Travis Banks.

Services will be held Wednesday, Dec. 28 at 2 p.m. at Way of the Cross Church with the Rev. Wayne Smith, the Rev. Mike Smith and the Rev. Tom Hilyer officiating.

Interment will follow in Chestnut Creek Baptist Cemetery in Verbena.
