Betty Sue Thomas, 72, of Randolph died Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2011, at Brookwood Medical Center in Birmingham.

She was born Saturday, Oct. 7, 1939, in Chilton County, daughter of the late Jack Smith and the late Paralee Nelson Smith.

She was a doctor.

Surviving are her husband, David W. Thomas of Randolph; daughter, Tammy Sullivan of Randolph; son, Terry Sullivan of Jemison; two brothers, Noah Earl Smith of Randolph and Jon A. Smith of Randolph; two sisters, Dean Schmidt and Jo Ellen Hughes of Killen, Texas; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Friends will be received from 5-8 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 29 at Martin Funeral Home Chapel.

Services will be held Friday, Dec. 30 at 1 p.m. at Martin Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Evie Megginson officiating.

Interment will follow in Martin Memorial Cemetery in Clanton.
