Chilton County’s wrestling team showed growth in the Benjamin Russell Duals meet on Dec. 17.

The Tigers lost to Opelika (47-18), Stanhope Elmore (72-12), Thompson (54-21) and Huntsville (54-30) but were competitive, with most of their deficits due to forfeits in weight classes where CCHS has no competitors.

Caleb Smith won all four of his matches on the day, by pin against Opelika and Thompson.

Paul Shearon won two matches, one of which was a 9-6 decision over a Thompson wrestler.

Justyn Jackson pinned opponents from Stanhope Elmore and Thompson.
