Jimmy Dale Smith, 55, of Clanton died Saturday, Dec. 17, 2011, at UAB in Birmingham.

He was born Sunday, Oct. 7, 1956, in Clanton, son of the late James Luther Smith and the late Ruby Loese Sewell Smith.

Surviving are his two sons, Matthew Smith of Tuscaloosa and Joshua Smith of Pelham; three sisters, Shirley (Jimmy) Dean of Dothan, Judy (Darwin) Long of Clanton and Anita (Dennis) Sullivan of Clanton; and mother of his children, Linda Smith Coogan of Pelham.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Luther and Loese Smith; stepfather, Dewey Baird; sister, Patsy Spradlin; and sister, Jeanie Baird.

Friends were received from 5-8 p.m., Monday, Dec. 19 at Martin Funeral Home Chapel.

Services will be held Tuesday, Dec. 20 at 1 p.m. at Martin Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Rick Marshall officiating.

Interment will follow in Antioch Baptist Cemetery in Centreville.
