Doreen Mims, 64, of Clanton died Friday, Dec. 16, 2011.

She was born Wednesday, Jan. 1, 1947, in Crenshaw County, daughter of the late Chancelor Parker Byrd and the late Cletha Mae Golden Byrd.

She was a typesetter.

Surviving are her husband, Nathan Mims of Clanton; stepson, Paul Mims of Hope Hull; stepdaughter, Donna Mims of Huntsville; step-grandchild, Angie Rizzo; step-great-grandchildren, Shelby Mims and Bailey Mims; three sisters, Betty Holmes of Pensacola, Fla., Mary Anette Mount of Glenwood and Wilma June McCloud of Troy; three brothers, Larry LaWayne Byrd of Goshen, Duane Byrd of Glenwood and Tommy Ray Byrd of Goshen; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received from noon until 1 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 17 at Martin Funeral Home Chapel.

Services will be held Saturday, Dec. 17 at 1 p.m. at Martin Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Randall Mims officiating.

Interment will follow in Refuge Baptist Cemetery in Clanton.
