Edwin Ibor Johnson, age 73 of Jemison, passed away on Dec. 8, 2011, at Shelby Baptist Medical Center in Alabaster.

He was born in Jefferson County on Aug. 6, 1938, the son of the late Ibor Johnson and the late Gladys Mims Johnson.

Mr. Johnson was an oiler in the crane industry.

He is survived by: wife, Elsie Faye Johnson of Jemison; son, Joe Johnson of Arizona; son, Jerry Johnson of Kansas; daughter, Rita Johnson of Birmingham; stepdaughter, Lisa Tillery of Randolph; stepson, Danny Frith of Randolph; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and sister, Diann Abernathy of Jemison.

Graveside funeral services will be held on Saturday, Dec. 10 at 11 a.m. from Mars Hill Baptist Cemetery in Jemison with the Rev. William Earl Short officiating.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services at Mars Hill Baptist Church.
