Gordon Wayne Watley, 54, of Thorsby died Saturday, Dec. 3, 2011, at Shelby Baptist Medical Center in Alabaster.

He was born Saturday, Oct. 5, 1957, in Clanton, son of the late Raymond Watley and Peggy Hayes Watley Pearson.

He was a lineman with Alabama Power Company.

Surviving are his wife, Teresa Watley of Thorsby; son, Adam (Haley) Watley of Thorsby; grandson, Graham Ryder Watley of Thorsby; mother, Peggy Watley Pearson of Clanton; mother-in-law, Pauline Blackmon of Thorsby; two sisters, Diane Baker of Clanton and Ann Pearson Jones of Clanton; five brothers, Tim Watley of Clanton, Rocky Watley of Clanton, Chris Watley of Clanton, Craig Watley of Clanton and Marty Watley of Clanton; special nephew, Wade Watley of Clanton; and a host of nieces, nephews and family.

He was preceded in death by his father, Raymond Watley; brother, Phillip Watley; and father-in-law, James Blackmon.

Services will be held Tuesday, Dec. 6 at 11 a.m. at Thorsby First Baptist Church with the Rev. Marc Hodges officiating.

Interment will follow in Thorsby Memorial Cemetery in Thorsby.
