In the hustle and bustle surrounding the holidays, the Chilton County Humane Society ask that you take time to remember our furry friends this Christmas.

The “Pets Love Christmas Too” drive is now underway to collect items needed at the humane society. Donations may be made at the humane society on Shade Tree Drive in Clanton or dropped off next Tuesday during the Chilton County Chamber of Commerce’s Open House from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Items needed the most are bleach (any brand), paper towels, puppy and kitten food (dry is preferred), cat litter and monetary donations (cash and checks are accepted).

But also needed at the humane society are the following items:

•Non-foaming laundry detergent (designed for front loading machines).

•Industrial/heavy duty garden hoses 50 inches or longer, plastic trash bags in 13-, 30- and 40-45 gallon sizes.

•Hand sanitizer.

•Dish washing liquid (anti-bacterial).

•Dog and cat carriers/crates of any size.

•Office supplies (pens, copy paper, manila and hanging folders, legal pads, sticky notes, permanent markers, etc.).

•Ink cartridges (HP 940). Black is preferred, but other colors are used as well.

•Frontline, Promeris, Advantage or PetArmor Flea Prevention products.

•Latex gloves — medium or large.
