Lake Mitchell Home Owners and Boat Owners Association recently presented a $1,000 check to the Alabama Water Watch. The check was given during HOBO’s annual meeting, which was held Friday, Nov. 18 at the Alabama Power Conference Center in Clanton.

HOBO made the donation to Alabama Water Watch in response to recent funding cuts from the Alabama Department of Environmental Management.

Many river and lake associations state have stepped up to donated money to this organization, which works to keep water clean by providing different groups water monitoring training and needed chemicals. AWW also keeps a record of water tests sent in from various associations across the state.

(AWW) has fully supported Lake Mitchell’s water monitors in every way they can,” said HOBO members. “HOBOs are proud to partner with AWW for clean water for our lake.”

The check was presented to biologist Eric Reubebuch and Wendy Seesock with AWW and Auburn University.
