The Clanton City Council agreed to move the meeting scheduled for Monday, Dec. 26 to Thursday, Dec. 22 because of Christmas. The meeting will still take place at 5 p.m.

In other business during the short meeting, the council took the following actions:

•Promoted part-time officer Justin Bean to full-time.

•Appointed Melinda White to the personnel board.

•New executive director of Chilton Medical Center, Ted Chapin, introduced himself to the council.

“It’s my goal to get involved in the community,” Chapin. “We have a great hospital … I just see tons of opportunity.”
