CPD to have extra patrols Thanksgiving weekend

The Clanton Police Department wants everyone to have a happy and safe Thanksgiving.

It is being projected that fewer people will fly this holiday, which means more people traveling the roads, leading to potentially hectic conditions.

The Clanton Police Department is encouraging everyone to leave a little early and allow enough travel time.

The department will also be watching stores extra closely during the busiest shopping weekend of the year. If you see something that doesn’t seem right, you are encouraged to call CPD at 755-1120 (always 911 during an emergency).

Some of the extra manpower during Thanksgiving and throughout the Christmas season will be funded by an Alabama Department of Economic Development Grant for traffic and highway safety.

“We at the Clanton Police Department wish everyone a happy and safe Thanksgiving,” said Police Chief Brian Stilwell.
