All local government offices will be closed Thursday and Friday for the Thanksgiving holiday.

The Chilton County Courthouse, Clanton City Hall, Jemison City Hall, Maplesville Town Hall and Thorsby Town Hall will each be closed Thursday, which is Thanksgiving, and Friday.

The offices will reopen on Monday, Nov. 28.

Garbage will be collected earlier than usual on Thursday and Friday in Clanton. Residents should have cans by the road by 6 a.m. those days.

No trash will be collected on Friday in Maplesville.

Garbage that is usually picked up on Fridays will instead be picked up on Nov. 28, and garbage that is usually picked up on Mondays will instead be picked up on Tuesday, Nov. 29.

Maplesville’s trash schedule will return to normal on Wednesday, Nov. 30.

The holiday closings will not affect trash collection in Jemison or Thorsby.
