Frances Thaxton, age 74 of Clanton, passed away on Nov. 18, 2011, at her residence.

She was born in Shelby County on Jan. 13, 1937, the daughter of the late Noble Fields and the late Jessie Mae Dammons Fields.

Mrs. Thaxton was a devoted homemaker.

She is survived by: husband, Bert Thaxton of Clanton; son, Bradley B. Thaxton of Pelham; daughter, Karla Redmond of Jackson, Ga.; grandchildren, Jonathan Thaxton, Brittany Thaxton, Jeremiah Redmond, Kaitlyn Redmond and Isiac Redmond; sister, Lois Woods of Blairsville, Ga.; sister, Joann Chambers of Winterville, Ga.; and brother, Gene Fields of Winterville, Ga.

Funeral services were held Sunday, Nov. 20 at 3 p.m. from the Memorial Chapel of Ellison-Mims Funeral Home with the Rev. Lee Lance and the Rev. Randy Gothard officiating.

A private family graveside was held at Union Grove Community Cemetery in Jemison.

The family requests no flowers, but that memorial contributions be made in her memory to your favorite Christian organization.
