Chester Cottrell

Chester Cottrell of Clanton passed away on Nov. 6, 2011.

He was a member of Union Street Baptist Church, American Legion No. 343 and the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War era.

He leaves to cherish his memory: a beloved daughter, Nekeithia Wade (Atlanta); sisters, Thelma Love (Brooklyn, N.Y.), and Louise Cottrell (Mt. Vernon, N.Y.); brother Sylvester Cottrell (Brooklyn, N.Y.); special friends, Nettie Wade (Atlanta); James Nixon (Clanton); and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Emma Langford Cottrell and Willie Cottrell; sister, Princess Deramus; sister, Lula Mae Cottrell; and brother, Charles Cottrell.

Friends will be received from 6-7 p.m., Friday, Nov. 11 at Agee Brothers Funeral Home.

Services will be held Saturday, Nov. 12 at 1 p.m. at Union Baptist Church, 310 Liberty St., Clanton. Interment will follow at Cross Road Baptist Church Cemetery in Verbena.
